Uranus Has Rings?!

Obviously Saturn has rings.... you can see them in any backyard telescope. But Uranus has the second most dramatic set of rings in the Solar System. Unlike Saturns particles in which are made of bright ice, the rings on Uranus are very dark and they are very hard to see because they are very narrow only measuring a few km wide. Astronomers think that the rings on Uranus are very new and didn't grow or become created with the planet.

Uranus' Atmostphere

As you can see in visible light, the planet Uranus looks like it has a solid boring atmosphere. But thats where you're wrong! The planet is a dynamic blue color created by clouds in which 2 hour long storms occur. They bring along 120 mile per hour winds! Astronomers figured this out when they finally got a good telescope, not some telescope from Five Below.

Uranus History

Have you  ever looked up in the sky and wondered what is up there? Well, trust me, there is so much more to see than with the naked eye especially in Uranus. People started discovering planets long ago. For example Sir William Herchel announced his discovery in 1781 of Uranus. This expanded the Solar System history.
